Hi, I'm Brett Gordon! A biologist and photographer based in Revelstoke, BC.I studied marine and freshwater biology at the University of Guelph, and earned my Master of Science at Queen’s University, where I researched how lake ecosystems have responded to thousands of years of climate change. Today, I continue to work in the environmental space, protecting the very landscapes that inspire my photography. My love of nature began on Gull Lake in Ontario, where I spent countless days on the water and in the woods as a kid. It’s where I learned to slow down, notice the light, and feel at home in the natural world. It’s a place forever connected to my dad, who first shared with me his appreciation for the outdoors. Even now, whenever I’m behind the lens, I carry him with me— a quiet reminder to keep seeing beauty in the wild places I explore. It's here where I first picked up a camera.
I love chasing alpenglow, documenting quiet mornings in the mountains, and preserving the fleeting light that turns a landscape into something timeless. Every photograph is more than an image—it’s a memory of adventure, a reflection of wonder, and a reminder of how small we are in the face of wild places. Whether I’m on assignment, traveling, or out with friends, I’m always seeking to combine my curiosity as a biologist with my eye as a photographer—capturing moments that connect us to nature and one another. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy my journey thus far through these images!
